Pastel
Painting
A challenging, year-long
course open to all levels in the fall. Lectures, personal work
sessions and critiques. Limited
enrollment.

The Fall semester concentrates on
the versatile medium of pastel, mixing and using color – value, hue,
intensity, and complementary

Winter: pastel painting, mixed
media, composition and turning the form
o
Spring: outdoor landscape en plein air at local sites
including becoming portable, personal limited palette, perspective,
getting the feel of a place

Morning
Plein Air:
a meditative class to catch the morning light [8:30 – 11:30 am] in
the beautiful gardens. Open
to all levels, and those who like to start the day quietly.
Tuesdays in the
fall or spring
$130 includes four classes and a $30 administrative fee to
the Gardens
** Current students are invited to attend this class as my guest.
[Note: students are
required to pay the administrative fee.]
Introduction
to Plein Air Painting:
a comprehensive introduction to the process of becoming “one with
the landscape”.
Open to painters new to outdoor
landscape, and those looking for a “refresher” course.
The primary media used will be pastel; graphite or conte crayon;
and watercolor, pen and ink, but students may work in any
medium.
Five Mornings for two weeks,
Monday, Wednesday and Fridays in September
$155
